Depending on the course centre and the type of course a variety of different activities and excursions are offered.
Our great free activity programme is included with most Junior Holiday Courses!
UK Holiday Courses:
our free activities and excursions:
In the afternoons and evenings as well as on the weekends a number of different activities and excursions are offered. Depending on the time of year and the type of course, these activities and excursions are already included in the course fee
(most holiday courses). Some of these activities and excursions are only available in the Summer month, while others are offered all year round. If your course does not include an activity programme (i.e. most standard and business courses), the activities and excursions can be booked as an extra.
Examples for excursions are trips to Exeter, Plymouth, Oxford, Cambridge, Tintagel (legendary birthplace of King Arthur), to the Scotish Highlands and Loch Lomond or to Dartmoor National Park.
Of course, an excursion to London is included in many course programmes (applies to most summer holiday courses in Northampton and Torbay). The London trip includes a tour of the city and stops at major attractions such as the Tower and Big Ben!

Examples for afternoon activities are sports (for example volley ball, Rounders, football), Tennis (Summer courses in Torbay only), swimming (in Torbay in the wave pool or in the Summer also on the beach), bowling, or half-day excursions to places such as
Cockington or to Kents Cavern.
Discos, clubs and pubs or a game of QuazarTM are also popular with our students.
All activities or excursions are led by a group leader, teacher, or guide.

Students also have the opportunity to take part in additional excursions and activities. These include for example: cinema visits, theatre visits, country inn tours, visits to castles and stately homes and trips to theme parks. Full details of additional excursions and activities, together with the price list, can be found in the information pack provided at the start of the course.
These additional activities and excursions are not expensive. For example, the optional beach barbecue in Torbay costs £4.00 (approx. €4.40 - price as of October 2009); for this, students get two hamburgers, a hot dog and a Coke - and of course vegetarian burgers and sausages are also available.
Other options include a boat trip across the Bay to Brixham and a full day trip to Land's End.
Our teachers, course directors, organisers, and group leaders will be happy to assist you if you wish to organise other activities that you may be interested in, such as sailing, horse riding, wind surfing, theatre visits, aerobics, fishing, badminton, basket ball, go-karting, golf, canoe ride, jet skiing, among other things.
In Torbay and Biarritz, fans of water sports fans will also get their money's worth. In Torbay, for example, professional sailing courses courses can be booked, and in Biarritz it is possible to book surfing lessons!

And there's even more. A great number of attractive sights are waiting to be explored by our students, including Bygones, Paignton Zoo, the Model Village or Torquay Museum, which has an extensive Agatha Christie exhibition. After all, the famous crime writer was born in Torquay.

In addition, we offer a very special personal atmosphere. We are not a mass operation with thousands of participants, where the individual is just a number.
The teachers and leaders quickly know all participants. Older students love to meet with the group leaders and sometimes our local organizers in one of the local pubs.
Now, get ready for a great language holiday!
All activity programmes depend on the course type, age group, and time of year.
Our course programme varies depending on the course, but the following exemplary programme for a three-week holiday course in Torbay will give you a good idea of what you can expect. Please note, however, that this programme is only exemplary and the actual programme of your course can vary from this example:![]() |
